From the tent at St. Brendan’s Inn. From the Ten-O-One Club. I need to figure out this whole mobile blogging thing a little more. I just got home from Oneida Casino watching Wayne “the Train” Hancock play a free show in the casino bar. It was a great set of western swing and it was a treat to see Mr. Eddie Biebel standing in on electric guitar. There are a couple songs on the videos page from Eddie’s days with Wayne that will give you a little taste of the honky-tonk sound the band is known for. Everyone should make it out Monday night for the second set from the “Viper of Melody”, Eddie told me he’d be there with bells on. It’s Eddie’s b-day everyone!!! Come on out to the Small Theater and listen to some tunes!!!! aj Sun. Dec. 19, between 5 and 6p on “Simply Folk”, host Tom Martin Erickson will be airing highlights from our Oct. 16th concert at Mosquito Hill Nature Center during the first hour of the show. Stay tuned from 6-8pm to hear music by Steve Gillette, Cindy Mangsen, Lou and Peter Berryman and Robin and Linda Williams. You can catch the show either on select regional WPR stations or online at: http://www.wpr.org/simplyfolk/ WPR regional radio network schedules listed at: http://www.wpr.org/regions/ aj |
